Buffalo State welcomes first woman president.
Almost 250 marchers were in the processional when Dr. Muriel A. Moore was inaugurated as the first woman president of Buffalo (N.Y.) State College Oct. 25 before some 1500 persons in Rockwell Hall auditorium and thousands more watching television at sites around the campus and in the Western New York area.
Dr. Moore, 48, the 125-year-old college's seventh president, was formerly vice president for public service and urban affairs at the University of Buffalo - the highest ranking woman at the University.
