GREAT NECK -- Dr. George Cohen of Great Neck has a long and impressive record as an educational consultant and, "card carrying philosopher." He also, apparently, can double as a top salesman.
Back in 1970 he worked on a development program for the new Touro College that ranged from writing a catalogue and planning physical facilities to establishing organizational work in spring 1971 and then -- hot upon the high school year ending -- the college administration asked his help in recruiting students for the September '71 opening of Touro.
Dr. Cohen went into a series of "parlor conferences" as well as school appearances to reach the kind of student Touro wanted. These were students in the upper echelon of scholarship and hardly apt to reach late spring or early summer without college acceptance. The...
