VILLAGE Roadshow has laid plans to duplicate its Wet 'n' Wild attraction on the Sunshine Coast, in a move it says is likely to siphon Brisbane visitors from its newest competitor on the Gold Coast, White-Water World.
Village yesterday announced it had entered a conditional contract to buy Aussie World, home of the Ettamogah Pub, for an undisclosed sum from its owners John Paini and Kerry Lawn.
Village said that, along with the purchase price, it planned to spend up to $70 million on the property establishing a Wet 'n' Wild lookalike that could open by September next year.
