VILLAGE Roadshow's Gold Coast theme parks have shaken off the financial crisis, making a big splash in the accounts of the entertainment giant.
Sea World, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild have reported a pre-tax net profit of $20.1 million for the six months to the end of December, up from $15.1 million a year earlier.
The result was built on a 4 per cent lift in revenue to $142.2 million, thanks largely to Village Roadshow's promotional blitz for its Queensland VIP and Endless Summer passes.
The season-pass incentives boosted visitor numbers by 300,000 over the period to 2.2 million.
