GOLD Coast theme parks are relying on domestic visitors to prop up sales this winter while the effects of the economic downturn and swine flu are being felt across the globe.
As residents continue to feel the pain in their hip-pockets and airlines like Jetstar cut back on flights to key markets such as Japan because of swine flu, theme parks are coming up with fresh ways to lure locals back.
At the moment Sea World, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild are offering children between three and 13 free entry within seven days of their birthday.
If they are registered online, parents can buy up to four tickets half price, to celebrate Movie World's 18th year.
