I never thought I'd be staying home on a Friday night.
However, for the past three Fridays, I've been glued to the television from 9-10 p.m. watching the new reality series "Jockeys" on Animal Planet. Tonight's episodes are "May the Horse be With You/Legends of the Fallen" -- in which Joe Talamo's hot streak goes cold and he turns to Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith to learn "the way of the horse."
This is followed by some of the greatest riders of all time coming out of retirement to risk it all on the track for one big race.
"Jockeys" is a reality show in which executive co-producers Liz Bronstein and Tina Gazzerro, with their film crew, followed seven jockeys: Jon Court, Aaron Gryder, Mike Smith, Alex Solis, Kayla Stra, Chantal Sutherland and Joe Talamo, throughout most of last fall's Oak Tree Meeting at Santa Anita Racetrack in preparation for the Breeders' Cup.
