To the surprise of its subscribers, Directv yesterday featured the return of one of Venezuela's traditional channels: Radio Caracas Television [RCTV]. Tuning into Channel 103 of this satellite television service will show the lion that identifies the television network running towards the station's logo, to which the word "International" has now been added.
Aside from Directv, 1BC Enterprises will also resume broadcasting through the Intercable and Net Uno signals. Intercable, which is cited in a survey conducted by Datos last month as being the most sought-after with a 38 per cent market share, will air RCTV on channel 13. Meanwhile, Net Uno, which was found by the same survey to control 15 per cent of subscription television, assigned several channels to RCTV because it was not able to reserve the same channel in every city it covers.
