Iran industry: New international airport opens near Tehran

Iran officially opened the Imam Khomeini International Airport, located about 45 km from the centre of Tehran, at the start of February. The new facility is designed to alleviate pressure on the aging Mehrabad airport, which handled about 9m passengers in 2003.
