Jenin / Ali Samoudi for PNN - Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails will again receive stipends from the Palestine Liberation Organization.Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reinstated the public service for PLO-member prisoners, which do not include members of the Hamas or Islamic Jihad parties. The Palestinian Prisoners Society is now working to ensure that all families have registered their children who are imprisoned and that the Society has up-to-date lists from all Palestinian provinces. With a branch in every governorate, the PPS is working locally before submitting the lists regionally. The stipend that Palestinian political prisoners will receive from the PLO amounts to 800 NIS, or about 200 USD. This allocation is for each prisoner of the factions that belong to the Organization. The Prisoners Society works around the clock to support imprisoned Palestinians, and stressed with the current appeal the importance of providing all forms of care for political prisoners and their families; to alleviate at least some of the suffering.
