Miami-Dade Community College issued the following news release:
More than 14 years ago when Hurricane Andrew uprooted lives and forever changed the South Florida landscape, Jon Secada was a fresh-faced up-and-coming artist.
The storm, which caused $26 billion in damage, canceled a concert Secada had planned at Miami Dade College's (MDC) North Campus.
Almost 15 years later the concert still has never happened, but that will soon change.
Secada, now a three time Grammy Award winner, who has sold more than 20 million albums world-wide, plans on having his MDC concert after all. On Wednesday, March 7 he will perform a free concert at MDC's Kendall Campus, 11011 S.W. 104 St., Fred Shaw Plaza at noon.
