Two CTV series return, one shouldn't have

MORE of the same -- it's a phrase that can both positive and negative connotations.
Take, for instance, the two CTV series that have their second-season premieres tonight. Each is offering more of the same of what was delivered in its rookie campaign; in one case, that's a very good thing, and in the other, it's a continuing disappointment.
Robson Arms, which arrives tonight at 9 on CTV, debuted last year and quickly established itself as one of the most unique and intriguing Canadian-made shows on TV. Set in a decidedly downscale Vancouver apartment block, the series got full value out of a remarkably impressive cast by delivering a collection of quietly compelling stories and way-offbeat character studies that sometimes intersected but just as often didn't.
