AMMAN - The government said Sunday it plans to revive Jerash Festival after the "substitute proved to be not up to the message intended from the festival", a step that was commended by concerned professional associations.
"Jerash Festival assumed high status among art sectors in the Arab world and we will try our best to restore it," Minister of Culture Tareq Masarweh told The Jordan Times over the phone on Sunday.
The ministry is in the process of proposing a higher steering committee for the festival, said Masarweh, adding that the committee will be in charge of assigning a figure to manage the signature cultural event.
