VILLAGE Roadshow is predicting a strong result for its Gold Coast theme parks this year, despite the difficult trading environment for tourism being expected to continue.
Warner Village Theme Parks CEO Tim Fisher said although there was a dip in the performance of Sea World, Movie World and Outback Spectacular in the first half of the financial year, he was confident the business would more than make it up by the end of June.
"I feel confident there is a fairly solid foundation for our business," he said. "Our view is that we will exceed last year's performance."
Mr Fisher said EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for the Gold Coast theme park division was up 6.5 per cent in January and that February was trading well.
