Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare constructivist approach based teaching method with traditional teaching method for teaching of acid-base topics to students. Also the effects of constructivist approach on students' attitudes towards chemistry lecture and students' scientific process skills were investigated. For this aim, students divided into two groups: control and experimental group. Then Acid-Base Achievement Test, Attitude Scale towards Chemistry and Scientific Process Skill Test were administered to students. After pre test applications, while constructivist approach was administered to experimental group, traditional teaching method was administered to control group during 5 weeks. After applications, Acid-Base Achievement Test and Attitude Scale towards Chemistry were administered to students as a post-test. Simple t-test was used for analyzing of the results. It was observed that the students made applications with 5E learning model showed more positive attitude towards chemistry and were more successful in acid-base topic than the students in the control group. Results showed that constructivist approach is more effective in teaching of acid-base topic and this approach increases students' attitudes towards chemistry.

Resumen
Se estudiaron los efectos del constructivismo en la actitud de los estudiantes ante la química y la habilidad de los mismos en el proceso cientifico. Los estudiantes fueron sometidos a la prueba en el tema Ácidos-bases para evaluar sus actitudes en la química. Después de la aplicación de las pospruebas, el grupo de control fue sometido durante 5 semanas al método de enseñanza tradicional. Como continuacion a estas aplicaciones, una posprueba fue impuesta a los estudiantes. Una simple T-prueba fue utilizada para analizar los resultados. Se observó que los estudiantes sometidos al modelo 5E demostraron una actitud más positiva ante la química, y mostraron mejores conocimientos en el tema Ácidos-bases en comparación con los estudiantes del grupo de control. Los resultados demostraron que este enfoque es eficaz en la enseñanza del tema Ácidos-bases y que este método aumenta el interés de los estudiantes ante la química
