Abstract
With the convergence of globalization and digitalization, various contents can be disseminated around the world and the ripple effect is also increasing. In the environment, K-contents such as the movie ‘Parasite’, BTS, and Netflix Drama ‘Squid Game’ have been globally successful. This study aims to analyze the global strategy of the K-contents focusing on the music and media industries. We analyze the business environment around K-content indiustries which is characterized as post-fordism and hyper-personalization. This study also investigates global strategies of music and media of K-contents. Based on the analysis, we propose strategic initiatives in terms of fostering artists, building up the business ecosystem, empowering customers by offering interactive contents such as Metabus. We also suggest that national systems and policies governing entertainment and culture industry be reorganized to strengthen fundamentals of the industry and protect intellectual properties.
