THE basis of my review comes from my experience teaching a graduate introductory sampling course to MS level students majoring in Statistics or Survey Research. This group has a diverse mathematical background and provides a challenge for any text (and at least this teacher). In light of the eclectic group of students, I use the text to teach a design-- based (or randomization-based) sampling course.
